£2,000 raised for the Lifetrain Trust

Adrian Rothera and his son Harry completed the 222 miles on-road cycle from Box Hill School to Paris in aid of Lifetrain Trust, a charity that provides education and personal development for young people who are at risk.

It didn’t take too long for Adrian and Harry to adjust from their normal mountain bikes to the road bikes needed for this challenge, however getting used to the tight fitting lycra was another matter. The ride took three and a half days to complete, mostly through the lovely English and French countryside. The final half day saw the team cycle from Versailles, through the Paris traffic to the finishing post at the Arc de Triomphe. The return journey via Eurostar was a lot quicker.
